Alien Frontiers Update Submitted to Apple
Upon its release a couple weeks ago, the iPad implementation of Alien Frontiers was praised for its interface and similarity to the cardboard version. The AI, on the other hand, took some hits. The very busy and visible developer of the Alien Frontiers app, Clint Herron, could have buried his head in the sand and taken a well-deserved vacation, but has been all over BGG trying to deduce ways to make the AI better. Well, today Clint posted that he submitted the first update for Alien Frontiers to Apple last night. The update includes strengthening of the Pirate AI level to make it "not play fair", a choice for alternate green dice to help colorblind players, miscellaneous bug fixes, and a big addition that...well, as Clint told me, you'll clearly see it when the update launches. We'll keep an eye out and let you know when the update becomes available.

Caveman Curling Slides Onto iOS and Android as Kairn
Developer Forgenext sent me a note informing me that Kairn was released for iOS Universal and Android today. Kairn is based on the dexterity game by Daniel Quodbach, Caveman Curling, in which, well...cavemen curl. That is, they flick stones across an icy lake. The game is for 1 or 2 players. Single player involves 4 levels of AI, and multiplayer includes pass-and-play. The game has several challenge modes and achievements to get, as well. The game is currently $0.99USD and can be found in the App Store or on Google Play.
