I played a 2 player game of this and it has been very well received. We did not use any rule changes...

We used the 2 accross of the 4 player set up (pink). The game flowed very well as my opponent was a first timer. It was a little slow at first and some ships seems to have gotten lost in the abyss of emty space.
I think i would like to try to use any 2 of the 3 player set up (yellow) next time to see if there is more direct earlier conflict...

Did anyone tried a 2 player yet? and if so what were some of the items you noticed?
Any recommendations or comments would be appreciated!

The game plays seems to play totally different with any player range.

I did a quick round of 2 player testing in the few months before shipping, but not enough time to get the changes on the box and rulebook. The 3 player setup works a little better than the 4 player. You start closer, and the angle works so that you have two reasonable paths to your opponent. That avoids the slow part at first and keeps the battle more focused.

The power balance does shift a bit between 3 and 4 players, and I'm sure it will shift a bit more with 2 players. Nothing seemed grossly out of place, but 2 players does present some particular shifts in design.
