I quite enjoyed the basic game, but the other (full) version of the game has 4 draw piles of cards. 3 of these vary the endgame conditions, the other provides bonus scoring.
Not sure how these are determined (they're numbered so it's *possible* that they appear in sets), but they appeared on a quick glance to offer a lot of variety in how the game will play out as it'll change your objectives (not in a Kingdom Builder way, more in a subtle tweak kind of way. Martin has played with them (I've not) so can offer a bit more info.
