Nice review. My only gripe with Pandemic is that there is absolutely no reason that a strong leader (often the most experienced player) would not take over the game every time and turn it into spectator solitaire. This is a solo game with multiple pawns.
Other co-ops grapple with the same issue and succeed/fail to varying degrees, but Pandemic does not really address it at all. The different role abilities just justify someone saying, "You're good at X. Why don't you do that while I do Y."
Best boardgame ever? Depends on whether you're the boss or the pawn.

Solo game with multiple pawns? I completely disagree. Cooperation is such a HUGE part of this game. Am I the only one who doesn't game with total jerkfaces who "take over" every game? Why do you folks game with jerks who turn games into, as you called it, a "spectator solitaire"?
I play with my family and my gaming group, and we do lots of discussing, but the decisions always ultimately fall to the active player. And we never bicker about losing a cooperative game. The best ones are hard and rack up more losses for you than wins.
