For production you get the ressources of all sources on the same tile as the camp.

For gathering ressources you only get the ressources of one source. It is not very clear in the rulebook but the rulebook

rulebook p. 7 wrote:

for Gathering Resources, place
each of the pawn(s) above the
specic source on the Island tile-
(s) from which you are gathering
resources

So you don't assign a pawn to any island-tile but to a specific source.

But you can get 2 ressources of the same type if your source has a +1 marker.

edit: I think the plural in the section about gathering ressources is used because you can assign pawns to different sources and then you get ressources from sources (plural!)
