My experience certainly confirms the fact that you must have 3-4 wine producers. They can be cheap wines, but by the second or third turn, you must be getting at least 3 wines or you simply will not be able to score enough points. High value wines at the Fair are overrated. You get one Fair Point for (WV-9). Wines with 10+ require multiple vineyards or wineries with at least one enologist plus aging. Even with your initial vineyard that is a minimum of three actions (Winery, Enologist, Cellar). Even then, you will need either a good year or two years of aging. You will not be able to pay for all that without selling wine, so that is four actions. That is a tight window to get through. On the other hand, if you just use cheaper wine, you can win the Fair with points generated by the Four Qualities and Bonus Points (for region or Fair space selected). Once you get ahead on the Fair it is hard to catch up with someone who enters with cheap wine early and blocks the most valuable qualities even with high value wine.
