Of the Carcassonne expansions that we own, we play Carcassonne: The River, Carcassonne: The River II, Carcassonne: Inns & Cathedrals, Carcassonne: Traders & Builders, and Carcassonne: The Phantom every game. I feel like base Carcassonne is lacking in some ways, and each one of these expansions remedies a different issue (Rivers break up farms, I&C gives more incentive to actually try to finish roads and mega-cities, and T&B gives incentive to finish other players' cities, and Phantom tackles the one meeple per tile issue). We also own Carcassonne: Abbey & Mayor and Carcassonne: Bridges, Castles, and Bazaars, which we will mix in on occasion, sometimes just a feature or two from them. At this point, I have little desire to pick up any more Carc expansions, although I would be interested to try one of the spinoff games like Carcassonne: The City.
