His no-grace clock shows 15h more than the 8h grace clock. 8h of these come from when he dropped, so the other 7h must be from faction picking, which isn't enough to trigger the 8h grace clock.

Also, your theory doesn't explain why the difference between the 1d and the 3d clocks isn't exactly 2d.
