Chimera and Hunter succeeses will vary for a number of reasons:. . . Dealing cards by its nature will lead to variable results
. . . Group Think
. . . Learning curves both for the Chimera and for the Hunters
I have heard it said that in Tichu players should be calling Tichu fairly frequently and most casual players are hesitant to do so.
In Chimera it is even more true. The risk to reward ratio is such that the risk is very much worth taking. Hands tend to be stronger than you may think; and, as you play the game more, you will find more and more ways to make your bid with these hands.
It also depends on how the Hunters play. If the Chimera is behind, then the Hunters should be fighting each other for points. They are not really partners!
In any case, it appears you are enjoying the game, which is great to hear!
