3 factions start with more ore than usual and are able to get an Academy easier then other factions.
Ambas: income of 4 ore by round one.
Geoden: 2 extra ore thanks to the first step on the terraform track.
Itars: starting with 5 ore instead of 4 ore as other factions.
When you want to go for the academy, you have to get 2 ore from the power action.
Together with a booster receiving ore, you don't have to convert a Q.I.C into ore or take the Q/O tech.
The drawback is that you're limited in the next round with things to do. To compensate that is obtaining the tech tile which gives you ore as income and the economy track at least on lvl 2, for ore, money and power cycling.
The Itars are interesting since they get 3 knowledge so a guaranteed one step on a tech track.
I tried this once, obtaining the ore/power and action to cycle 4 power as tech tiles, 2 lvls economy and 1 lvl on gaia. Still managed to build a PI on round 3 and getting 2 techs at round 4 gaiaforming.
For other factions you have to decide if you want to do this, sacrificing Q.I.Cs, forcing a lvl 1 terraform for the 2 ore and/or getting an one time bonus tech.
I did this with Nevlas, thanks to their ability able to get science on lvl 4 and thus 2 steps on technology every round.
It was fun to do, but wasn't able to score a lot of VP through the game (only 149 in total)and very limited with actions the next few rounds.
