I submitted the file retrieved from Convivium, but in case it does not get accepted here’s the variant:Taj Mahal for 2 Players by Reiner Knizia
To play Taj Mahal with only two players, we introduce an additional dummy player who competes with the two real players.
Play according to the usual rules. However, at the end of each player’s turn (after playing one or two cards and after withdrawing):
• Reveal one card from the drawing deck and display it for the dummy player.
After each turn, the number of cards of the dummy player increases by one and all these cards should remain visible.
When the dummy player receives a second card of any one of the four colours (not white), then the card is discarded and the dummy player withdraws immediately. Then:
• Compare the dummy player’s cards with the cards of the two real players and discard any influence tiles, the crown or the province tile from the court that are won by the dummy player; and finally
• Discard the dummy player’s cards and do not reveal any new cards for the dummy player until the next visit begins.
The dummy player never places any palaces and does not score points. The dummy player merely deprives the real players of some of their scoring opportunities.
If a real player withdraws before the dummy player, compare this player’s cards with the cards of his real opponent and with the cards of the dummy player to determine his winnings.
