10 max is correct- but feels like you must have been playing a couple of other rules incorrectly (either that or your game was missing some components) - because there's been plenty of people on here who've lost a bunch in a row in the March/April period (which is widely seen as being the hardest part of the game). Not seen anyone who's lost more than 3-4 games in the final third, let alone 8 in a row!
Can I assume that these were all losses to 8 plague cubes hitting the board? Had you opened all the boxes (other than #8)? Did you use Box 6 for infection cards at least?
