For me the main advantage of GP over TM is that it's still way fresher, and I cannot dwell on a set of) basic strategies like I have for TM - in GP I'm not even to the level of basic strategies like the ones Thrar described for TM.OTOH the main advantage of TM over GP is that I have a lot more competent players around whom I can play FtF, plus tons more online. Unless GP gets an online version similar to BGA/snellman/lodev* for TM, I don't see GP taking the place of TM.
*Why BGA/snellman/lodew and not the TM app? Because these three offer all relevant information on one screen, whereas seizing the situation on the TM app requires looking at half a dozen different screens (each of which has a bit of crucial information) to get the whole picture. Putting everything on one screen may not work on a mobile screen, but even on a mobile I'd rather scroll than close/open sub-screens, which would then also be the option of choice for those who rather make non-trivial moves on their PC. Another minor quibble: the log format of the app is so much worse than for e.g. snellman: needlessly verbose (one action can easily fill many lines, and due to lack of hex markings on the map you may still not know where something actually happened) and for some strange reason the log is restricted to just the last set of moves.
