So I read the rules, discovered many unanswered scenarios. Being a big gamer and collector this game sat unopened on the shelf for a long time, even though I bought it the day it was released. Anyway I read all the forms, and some items have been clarified. With exception of the discard pile argument. So the rules show a picture of the playing area with 6 slots for a discard pile, and goes on about the importance of keeping them placed correctly in order from left to right. So does this mean that every time you discard a card it starts a new slot like initial bidding? Or do you start on top of the left most row each time you play cards? Example your first move you play 3 cards, so do you place them one at a time covering face down bid cards (let's say 2 for example) and then the third played card creates a new slot. Then let's say your next move you use 4 cards, would you again start from the left meaning you have 4 slots now as you discard pile row, meaning 3 cards in discard slots 1 and 2 (1 face down and 2 face up) then 2 face up in the 3rd slot, and 1 face Up in the forth slot? then at the end of the round you flip them over and draw half of them from left to right? In that case you would have your bid cards from the beginning never coming back. With all of that said I am guessing that it would and or should be 13 slots and you just go left to right and then redraw them from the left, which really means the last 6 cards you play in round one, you may as well just put back in the box... Or maybe I am just confused and people are laughing at these questions. But I have read a lot of rules and played a lot of complex games in my life, but he spectral rails rule book is not a lot to be desired. Perhaps the rules should be rewritten, properly edited and game tested and posted as a file on BGG.↧
