Video games have definitely made their way back into my primary way of spending time in my gaming hobby. World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and World of Warplanes Closed Beta have taken up the majority of my time. I also thrifted a copy of Fallout 3 so I've been trying that one out. Kyle, who I usually played board games with a lot on Mondays and Wednesdays, has also lost a bit of the board game hobby bug. :( I've really wanted to get back into playing Combat Commander with him though. Now we spend most of our time watching TV Shows and playing either Marvel vs Capcom 3 or Soul Calibur IV. Still fun though :)

Kyle wanted to play this one again so I got it out. Been a while since I played so it was a very low scoring game for me. I'm more used to the solo "puzzle" game. I started up playing a solo series with the K-deck, but I have yet to get around to finishing it. I'm not scoring as high as I did for my I-deck solo series, but I am at least getting enough points to keep going.

Kyle wanted to try this out. He seems to really like it. I feel after a while I'll be looking into getting some of the others.

Ascension: Storm of Souls

B-17: Queen of the Skies
Times Played: 5 (5 solo)

Finally got my own copy of this game. Was very excited. And it was in great condition for how old it is. The previous owner took very good care of it. Now I will enjoy it for years to come. I've really come to like this game even though there's very few decisions to make and you pretty much just roll on charts and watch what happens. I just find that thrilling. I do love RAF: The Battle of Britain 1940 for the same reasons. I already have a enough games that require decisions so this is a nice break. Anyway, I played more missions for my Campaign. My first mission last month was a little scary, but not enough to make me worry. "Aurora" came back a little banged up but nothing that couldn't be patched up. The next 4 missions were a little too easy. Hardly any waves, and most were chased off by Fighter Cover. I usually only had to deal with 1 or 2 Jerries at a time. Sadly though, due to bad weather, most of the bombs never hit targets so it was constant draws. Mission 6 however, I was hit with many waves. "Aurora" never made it to the bomb site. An FW190 coming in from 12:00 Level, landed a Walking Hits / Fuselage. 1 shell hit the bomb bay, detonating the bombs destroying "Aurora" and all crew KIA. I literally sat there stunned. Stunned and sad. "Tex", the Ball Gunner, was 1 kill away from becoming an Ace gunner. In memory of the "Aurora" Crew, I didn't fly any more missions that day. However, I still have yet to come up with a new B-17 and crew to follow for the rest of the campaign.
Now that I'm getting more familiar with this game though, I'm really considering joining the PBF game. Looks like a lot of fun.

Clue Mysteries

We had thrifted this some time ago and finally got around to trying it out. It's neat I guess, but my wife's first comment was that she much prefers 221B Baker Street: The Master Detective Game. Perhaps this is one we'll play when our son is old enough to introduce him to mystery type games.

Friday
Times Played: 2 (2 solo)
Last Played: September 2012
Only got in 2 plays this month. Finally won one, but didn't beat my previous score. Just can't seem to remember my dang strategy. Grrr!

Ghost Stories
Times Played: 1
Last Played: Dec 2011
Expansions Used: Guardhouse x1

Hero IK: The Lair of the Lich
Times Played: 3 (2 solo)
Last Played: New to me
Got this along with the other two Hero IK games with a $6 Tanga deal. Figured at approx $2 a piece, not too bad. They are decent I guess. I didn't really care for the 2-player game at all. Solo is much better. Fun little game for filler time or whatnot. I keep it with me in my bag for work (which also has Friday and Onirim) for if I feel like a Dungeon Crawler.

Lords of Waterdeep
Times Played: 1
Last Played: July 2012

Onirim
Times Played: 6 (5 solo)
Last Played: New to me
Picked this one up with some of the birthday money I had left. Not too bad of a game. Very difficult but I did win after my 4th play. I blame that on lucky card draws though.
