Absolutely top review! The first part captures the feeling of this game, and I can relate to the "optimising the borders" (and losing) approach... My "favourite" tactic is to accumulate just enough of an animal not to score a bonus, and then realise I could have just waited two more turns to get that extra cow/horse/pig/sheep and done something useful instead.

The only things I disagree with are:

Because I've played Agricola once and really didn't like it, but I'm finding this game a fantastic way to pass half hour (or so...). I actually believe people who don't like Agricola like this better, and mostly vice versa too. And also:

Because you're a mad fool ;). Especially if your wife asks to play it - that's the gold seal of approval for any game.
