I'm used to play the game solo and I enjoy it a lot. I don't apply any special rule.Normally I play with one or two (max three) characters and enjoy the story as it is built up. This game is all about storytelling, so I imagine the story and I have fun with its development.
The only point to take care of is reading from the book. I try not to read the options or directly I cover them with a small paper.
