Hi Mikko. I understand the desire to make even more complex Event rules. And I welcome anyone to do such variants if they like and post them here. But I need to keep the base rules (and official variants) to be tight and lean so the game does not get out of hand.I need to be careful that there arent too many sub-systems in the game that risk giving too much importance to minor game play elements. People have a well-meant tendency to focus on some aspect of the game that they like and then wish for it to be elaborated. For instance having Barbarians move, conquer cities, become allies, found cities etc. Others might find something else that they wish would be elaborated.
If I did all those individual cool things, I risk ending up with a game with lots of cool sub-systems that never really gel together or a game that no one can get into because it is too complex. But maybe it is something that can be explored in the future
But between the base rules for Events (which I love myself) and the official variants in the rulebook (and now this one) I think I have covered 99% of most players of CoC. And the rest can try tweak the game to their group-specific liking.
Thanks for your thoughts Mikko.
[edit] I quite like the idea of having two face up events. Easy to implement. I might make it an optional add on to this variant. Under consideration. :)
