Nice option, Evil Roy, hadn't thought of that one. The shipping option allows for 2 first round dwelling builds if those spots don't get taken. Thanks for the input all. Seems like there are quite a few options depending on bonus card choice. The stronghold build seems the best to me, if you can get the single extra worker from a bonus card.

So, in the worst case, where you don't get a priest, worker, or +1 shipping bonus card, what do we think the best option is?

1. If you go temple, you are set up with a priest to either get spade cost down or ship, and have at least 4 workers the next turn, and get a favor for more goodness.

2. If you take the "spade as an action" bonus card, you can build a dwelling for 4 workers, still allowing for a tradehouse upgrade if wanted.

Fun to think these through. Of course, this is all out the window the next game where we will very likely not play with the starting setup.
