Thank you for responding. I really enjoy the game.

I can see your point, that either expanding or playing a card alone could supplement a build up strategy. But building out gets you help with end game scoring while playing a card alone does not.

For example, playing a card alone often gets similar benefits to building out. If the playing a card alone cards were stronger (double, for example), I could see a card alone strategy with occasional building.

Could you give us help imagining a successful strategy that uses mostly card alone + building up?
