Any game has to be interesting, that's the nature of any recreational activity. But what makes it interesting, that's the question. Some seem to say that for the complexity of a game to be "interesting" it has to serve some concrete purpose. I don't think that's right, at least for me; sometimes the interactions and the process of analyzing them is itself "interesting".
