In Agricola once you understand how to create and manage a food engine, taking a begging card is very rare - if it happens it is usually because you got caught taking a risk.In Dungeon Lords, your stuff *will* get broken, it's just a question of how much of it. You are never going to feel "ahead of the curve" in the way you do in Agricola when your food engine is particularly efficient.
In short, if what you didn't like about Agricola was the feeling of having to run as fast as you can just to stay in place, I'd avoid Dungeon Lords, because it has the same issue, but worse.
Or really I should say better because I love both games for that very reason.
Le Havre and Ora et Labora are probably both worth a look if you are interested in a game that has Agricola's engine building without it's punitive nature.
