No, all we know is that there's enough legitimate going on in the game that enough buyers are willing to put up with the tacked on, shallow, pretty-much-pointless component destruction. Are you monitoring everyone's game play? Do you know how many people do the first card-ripping ritual and grimace and say "This part is kind of stupid," and wonder if they just blew $60 on a rip off? The rest of the game is great, so they move on to the better stuff. That doesn't mean they approve of the paper destruction fetish business. (And, not by the way, your emperor's naked.)
