I've only played Pandemic once or twice a while ago. So far with Pandemic Legacy we lost our first game and won the last two taking us into March. The first game we fell victims to some chained out breaks ending the game quickly. Our last game was won on the absolute last turn and only after some serious thinking and worrying it couldn't be done. No city has fallen for us but we've got a fair bit if ones, and some twos and threes. We also have a scarred character. Although the last game we misreadan important rule which probably hurt us a bit.

I can't say if it's easier than regular Pandemic or not, but so far even our wins have been tense. I can see people having real close, tense games but still winning. Not sure if thatmeans it is easier or not. A lot has to do with planning, making most of your team's actions as a whole, knowing when to jump on a city/disease and when you may be able to leave it for a few turns. And of course, if you are having bad luck with the cards and lots it can make a big difference as well.

Those with more experience may be able to shed more light on it. I know Legacy has extra city connections. The upgrades can he'll a lot as well.
