What I meant is:
"The important point seems to be that normally, without the Early Riser occupation, while you won't receive a baby animal if it can't be accomodated, it is generated--it just runs away immediately."
Does it matter? By the normal rules regardless if it is not generated at all or if it is generated and just runs away you don't get the animal either way (or get to convert it to food). I fail to see what you think needs clarification or how what you have said makes any difference.
Yep, it matters. Without that interpretation, the Early Riser's text suggests a less powerful ability, since it does not explicitly say "your animals breed even when there isn't room." Sure, maybe you can cook baby animals--but the rules could be interpreted to say that you don't get baby animals under some circumstances. (Then, Early Riser would still be useful when you do have room to breed but want to eat one of your two animals.)
The other reason it matters is for future cards, which is what led me to this forum in the first place. I was designing a card that allowed you to place runaway baby animals on future round spaces, to be picked up later, and wanted to check my understanding of the rules.
