Thread: Pandemic:: General:: How is Pandemic a trading game?

According to the BGG listing, Pandemic is a Trading game. I can't see this. According to the BGG definition:

In games with a trading mechanic, the players can exchange game items between each other.

I cannot see any exchange in Pandemic. You can give and you can take. But if they happen to occur in both directions there is no mechanic linking them.

I submitted a correction to this effect and I got the following response:

Your correction for Pandemic has been declined.

Reason: While I agree it's minor in Pandemic, it still is accurate per BGGs definition. It also appears in the other Pandemic game's entries so I think it's ok.

I don't understand what is going on.
