Then you aren't talking about standard opening but rather Optimal Openings when you are getting a lot of things to line up your way

Of course people should never be leaving resources around when they could be built into something that will get them more resources later on. That's just being efficient with what you have, everyone should strive for that. But you can't also expect fortunate opening situations to be the normal either
