Hello everyone. I recently played this game for the first time. It has been on my list of games to play for a few years now but i was always intimidated by how fiddly and difficult it supposedly was. When i played the first game i found it wasnt very bad at all. It seems like a pain in the butt to teach it, but i picked it up pretty quick and have even been playing it online since. I really enjoy it.

Im wondering about the longevity. I get the feeling that the game can feel quite samey after a small number of plays and im wondering if this is the case. Maybe some veteran players can chime in. I realise there is an expansion i plan on getting soon, but im just wondering if this is a game that will get old quick. I have Alchemists and i get a similar feel playing that and Dungeon Petz. wondering if Petz will lose its charm after a few plays.

It depends what do you mean by 'samey'. It doesn't become a different game with repeated plays after all.

Replayability of games like this is about the strategic puzzle in a tactical environment (where the tactics are introduced by other players and what they are doing and randomness of the game itself).

I don't think the expansion is particularly awesome, but if you want more options for your puzzle, then it helps :)
