Thread: Tragedy Looper:: General:: What's the point of not using goodwill refusal if a role has "optional" refusal?

Hi all,

I'm still learning how to play this game. I haven't played through a real game yet, but I'm reading up on all the roles to play as the Mastermind for script 1 this weekend. One thing that confuses me is: why would you ever want to not refuse if you have optional refusal? If you flip flop between accepting and refusing, then players know that the role has optional goodwill refusal. Shouldn't you always refuse, so that the players don't know whether the character has mandatory or optional refusal?
