Well... usually yes. But there may be situations where letting them use a goodwill ability actually helps you as the mastermind. Those poor people don't always know what is good for them... :devil:

But once the "cat is out of the bag", you can't put it back in. The protagonists usually don't even try to use the goodwill effects of a character that refused it anymore, since they now know he or she isn't friendly. They know that you would only let something happen that helps you.
