Seems like you're wrong, because the person who did say it later agreed it wasn't really what he meant. You seem a bit fierce in defending his perspective even after he says that it isn't his perspective.
If I asked him why he used that phrase and he said, it's a problem for me because I'm generally looking for games to play with new players, I would say, oh, ok. When I ask him why he used that phrase and he says, oh, you're right, it's not a good description, but you leap in to say, it's an excellent description because I, John Sizemore, mostly play games with new players, I have to say, huh, where did that come from?
And when I see that I'm in a debate with David desJ on any topic, I have to realize that the discussion will never end until I lose interest and give you the last word. *sigh* He actually said "point well taken", if you'd like to continue arguing.
I was simply pointing out that most people will understand a loaded term like "suffered" to be an expression of opinion, rather than one of objective fact. I would have assumed that he chose the word that fairly expressed his opinion, rather than taking him to task for choosing it. I would have chosen to use "suffered" for the reasons I gave; I do not pretend to know why Don D. chose to use it.
