Thanks for the Data steve! This however (i know it is all you could get from your data right now) only means that there have been only a few cases where no digging at all followed afterwards (the pure VP-Dig Upgrade).
Even if i upgrade digging twice at the end of the game and only have a single worker left I might hate-dig the hex of an opponent. This was obviously not the reason for upgrading my digging but didnt cost me anything in such a situation.
As you have invested 2P4W10C for a full upgrade you should at least dig four times afterwards if your intention for the upgrade was to actually save workers afterwards through cheaper digging. Otherwise you could have also harddigged the corresponding hexes and save the coins for other stuff (Coins are most likely to be the limitting resource in this game so this is just theoretical.. the maths is odd and im too ready for the weekend to articulate/calculate this more accurately right now  ... just wanna say that your last table is nice but doesnt show if people upgraded digging for the VPs or with cheaper digging as a motivation or a combination of both. For that we would need the amount of times they have actually digged afterwards).
3 digs:
W-Cost without Advancements = 9 (for three spades)
W-Cost with two advancements = 9 (for three spades, two Priests (=2 Workers), and the two upgrades)
4 digs:
W-Cost without Advancements = 12 (for four spades)
W-Cost with two advancements = 10 (for four spades, two Priests (=2 Workers), and the two upgrades)
