I've just gotten back into playing this game, drawn back by both the overall quality and depth of this game and the availability of this solitaire variant by Shady Torbey. What a delight -- thanks! Then I found the apparently "official"Troyes Solo Rules English V1.0 in the files, which, at least for me, really simplified and clarified things.

3 issues have arisen...

1) It is explicitly stated that Le Roy "continues taking turns until all of his dice have been used." This nicely clarifies this issue, which apparently has been a source of confusion and uncertainty in various other threads, where the general consensus seemed to be that Le Roy keeps taking turns until all dice on the board have been used (which raised other issues regarding whether he would buy them from you or just take essentially "free" actions). And this makes more sense to me, anyway. Plus, at least thus far, it doesn't much matter as I usually wind up spending all my dice before Le Roy uses up his.

2) For "Notes" #1 & #2, I'm playing that if Le Roy is supposed to purchase a die from you but you don't have any left, he just spends another of his dice. Sound right?

3) For "Note" #3, I'm assuming that the value of the die is irrelevant, and that Le Roy goes by the "best places" pattern on the first page until he can displace one of your meeples if possible. Correct?

Great game, and a wonderful solitaire variant(even though it looks like I'll usually be beheaded!) -- thanks again. I also was looking at the Ladies of Troyes expansion, and wondering what adjustments could be madse in order to incorporate that?
