Hmm, this is an interesting thought, would the idea still be to keep an A,B,C deck?

Different decks might be made with The Danes expansion 2020. You need different backsides I think.
But maybe it could work to make stacks of different card types where you can choose from (yellow+green = late; red = early, blue = always ?!?)

1A Peddler- "Limited uses, and if you don't get it before first animal set or two, useless"
Also my thought. It was accaptable in basic game -> early money was rare and getting things cheaper early was helpful, but now you use spaces once to get a pair. Even if the other general problem of getting it fast enough might get solved, this card got worser with The Norwegians.

There is something that got me thinking ..

Is it a common move to give up a fight on internal conflict (forced or voluntarily, just to return back on your next turn?

Let's say I am attacked on internal conflict and my opponent is on 2+4 reds. I may not have enough red support to win, or even if I had 5 red tiles, lets say I dont want to use them all.... then, is it a good move, to give up, take the leader out, and on your next turn go back to the same spot with a 2+3 reds and retake the kingdom?

How often do you see this? It seems an ugly sequence of turns, but it is more likely than not you can retake the kingdom. Just my thought.

Thanks and happy games.

It's quite common after displacing an opponent leader with an internal conflict to fill in the 'hole' with another leader or tile to avoid leaving a weakness.

Also look at the picture showing set up, you'll see the scoring pawn on space 1.

Why, oh why couldn't they just have had the rules read "place it at space 1 on the Path of Prosperity" ?

To some of us here at the European end, nil is the obvious starting point, just like we name our earthenbound storeys "the ground floor", not "the first floor".

Hey, guys, I know I'm totally new to this, but I keep scoring 19 points in my solo games - could you throw me a general tip or two?

On my last board I had (only?) 4 buildings - house of the brotherhood + bathhouse + fish yard + shingles manufacturer.

I had 7 ponds, but missed the opurtinity to gain resources from them (so, I'm making mistakes in preparing draw deck).

Thanks in advance

As well as checking the bits they hold to see how urgent my own action is!

Great game and I can't wait to get hold of this expansion.

We play "draw 2 discard 1" on every occupation draw.

Makes occupations just satisfying enough, no risk of AP, maybe adds 5 seconds to a turn when someone plays 3 vikings.

Will soon become an official rule. I hope with the upcoming 'harvest'-mini-expansion 2019

Session: Pandemic Legacy: Season 1:: Brno third session: August and September - SPOILERS

So it was a while since our group of 4 met. Many things happened in real life - two of us got married to each other. So after more then a month we found some time to play again together.

INTRO
[o]After struggling a lot last time during May and June we sprinted thru July and completed the search for Virologist. We still do not know what that helps us with, but we are pressing on. We were also able to eradicate the yellow virus in July so we took two positive mutations for it (to a total of 3) so now we need 1 less card when trying to cure it. We took it over the Paramilitary Escort upgrade as we thought it would be better for now. We start with 6 events due to funding + we have bonus from opening box 8 (since we lost 4 games in row last time) [/o]

AUGUST
[o]We start with Scientist (Anne), Generalist (Dr. 13), Quarantine Specialist (Burnham) and Colonel (Jack O'Neil). We took Jack over the Soldier since we did not have the grenade in our starting hand and we needed to deal with a lot of Faded quickly so we thought the Colonel might help. We also had the event New Assignment (that allows us to switch character) in our opening hand so we thought we are covered. Since we won July we can build one permanent Military base and we choose Paris. We need a strong foothold in Europe for Burnham with the upgrade to allow quarantines to be places in cities neighboring the military base where she is stationed. Our only Military base in Europe was in Moscow up until now. Since we start with 7 military bases now we have as for past few games completed the objective right away. As for the search for Immunologist we have 3 cities we can search in: Moscow, Istanbul and Alger are all Faded cities with 2 or 3 panic level. We soon draw a Moscow card and gather most of our group in Moscow to finish the search. With the information we find it all makes more sense to us - so looks like we need to find two more people. We switch Jack for John (Soldier) as soon as we have grenade. With Burnham we keep the Faded cities at check. We finish blue cure quickly and we can make cure for yellow as well but we wait hoping to eradicate red once we make cure for it as there are very few red cubes on the map. But red cards are spread among us so we are trying to think of the best strategy. We need to use one of the 3 bonuses from box 8 to help with the pressure, but we think it's worth it if we can eradicate red. In the end the best strategy we find is that John a Pilot flies into red Cities and gives cards to Dr.13 since they have the Co-workers relationship. We spend one round cleaning red cubes and finally make a cure. Then we immediately make a yellow cure (since it requires no action) and win the month. For our bonuses we give John the Paramilitary Escort upgrade as we feel that will be very strong and we pick the very last positive mutation for our red disease. Now we have blue with 4, yellow with 3 and red with 2.[/o]

SEPTEMBER
[o]We decide to start September with the same characters as we ended August with. We start again in Jakarta that has both Science and Military bases. And we decide to go for the Paranoid soldier quest early. We have a bonus from last month so we start with 2 points already in search and with John that call pull equipment cards from discard pile (that are mostly black CoDA cards) we finish the quest before the end of 2nd round. SPOILER! Most of this month continues with spoilers after completing the Paranoid soldier objective: [o]So we open Box 6 and read. It's a bit confusing as we do not know what to read first. But seems it all makes sense in the end. So we need to destroy John our Pilot Soldier that we just upgraded with Paramilitary Escort. He was only able to use the new ability twice and he is gone forever. The rest of the month is tough, without John and not having New Assignment event (dropped due to funding) we do not have any way to reduce the Faded population. We decide to cut of Asia from India to prevent faded spreading there, but that causes few pandemics in the India. We are slowly working towards cures, but we struggle with red again. In the end we make cures, but since having Military bases is no longer a viable objective and we decide that we do not want to destroy 2 military bases yet we try to place 7 quarantine tokens on Faded cities. The card draw is not best, but it the end we manage to survive. We are left with only 3 or 4 faded figures in the supply while middle east goes into Outbreak chains again. To prevent our loss we use the equipment "Drone transport" to drop into Istanbul at panic level 4 a completely isolate it. Once it's Burhnam's turn she can place 4 quarantine tokes and complete the objective and save us. For the end game bonuses we debate a lot but we choose both bonuses to place permanent roadblocks so we can use all 6 to keep Istanbul isolated. We have lost already twice to chain outbreaks in middle east and now almost a 3rd time so we hope that this will help us in the future. As I think of it anytime I say something like that the next month something unexpected completely changes my mind on how good that decision was.[/o][/o]

This really is end of April now.
I hope the lack of any news or responses to this thread isn't a sign of a delay.
I first heard about the plan for a reprint, originally for 2018, back in Jan '18, this has been a long wait already!

Just got my copy of the 3rd edition. There are a couple of minor differences from the original besides the box being cardboard. All of the components are wood, except for the building supports, which are plastic. Also there are no boxes for the character tiles. The 3rd edition uses the character tiles of the plastic version, which have the item slots on the tile itself. It’s a decent compromise to cut the price. I would of rather had the wood building supports though. Overall a great product.

Questiond to Gernot.
DO you have any idea on when this might come to stores in Europe?
None of the Swedish game stores have it, and none have no info from the distributors on when it might show up.

Thanks JoeAubrey and Grant.

I read it a few times trying to see another meaning, but couldn't. It seems obvious now after your example.

If it had of said "other unclaimed" I think I would have got it :) or if it said it this way:
"If the exploration board that is supposed to be turned has already been claimed by a player still place silver on the other unclaimed boards."

Thanks again :)

I'm not Gernot, but it's been in Denmark in many stores since february, but now sold out again quite a few places - however, it's still available here and there in Europe - why it hasn't reached Sweden, I got no idea about - but it's certainly has hit stores in Europe (also reported from many other countries in this thread).

Maybe the distributor in Sweden has messed something up or something?

Chinatown is back on my radar. I bought Lords of Vegas a few years back when comparing the two but I think I also need this in my collection.

Just wondering if the new edition is a straight reprint or will it have upgraded components etc.

You start with 2 cards, then start your turn drawing one card. If for 2 rounds you use 2 cards (either to add a marker or to move a wall) then you will spend the rest of the game without any card in hand until the card that you draw at the beginning of your turn?
Therefore having the extra AP may be useless?
Because of this, our friends draw back up to 2 cards at the beginning of their turn.

You play only one card per turn. If you perform more than one action that relies on what the card shows in a turn, all such actions use the same card.

Wow we really messed up every rule 😨.
Yet we really enjoy it. We don't deserve this game 😂
Thank you.

I guess some Danes raided the shipment and traded it for treasure chests...
